Professor Houman Ashrafian is an internationally recognized clinician, investor, and biotech entrepreneur focused on translating transformative science into medicines and vaccines. He currently leads efforts at Sanofi as EVP of R&D to strengthen its pipeline and advance its position as a science-driven innovation leader.

Previously, he was Managing Partner at SV Health Investors, where he co-led the biotech franchise and founded multiple successful companies including Alchemab, Enara Bio, Sitryx, Mestag, Trex Bio, and Dualitas. Earlier, he served as Vice President and Head of the Clinical Science Group at UCB, driving precision medicine and early clinical development strategy.

A co-founder and chairman of Weatherden, he has also founded several healthcare ventures including Cardiac Report and Heart Metabolics. Alongside his industry roles, he is an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital and a visiting professor at the University of Oxford.

He holds degrees from Cambridge and Oxford and has received multiple awards for clinical and scientific excellence.
